Transfer students can receive financial aid from EKU in addition to their own unique scholarship offerings. In fact, transferring from a two-year institution usually opens federal funding for more credit hours than were previously available.

KY Transfer Merit Scholarships
Your hard work at your previous institution(s) pays—literally! On-campus transfer students have unique scholarship opportunities that honor the time and effort they’ve spent throughout their entire academic experience.
Kentucky residents with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and 24 college-level credit hours can qualify for university Transfer Academic Scholarships. These scholarships are evaluated and awarded based upon the student’s admission materials, so there are no extra applications. Just be sure to apply before the scholarship deadline.***

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
All admissible on-campus transfer students who are Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) chapter members who attended the college associated with their PTK affiliation within the past five years are eligible to receive a $1,500 annual scholarship. This renewable scholarship is stackable with other university merit based scholarships and out-of-state tuition discounts. Recipients will be automatically added as auxiliary members of the EKU Chapter of the Tau Sigma Honor Society.
Requirements
- Be a fully admitted, on-campus transfer student seeking a first bachelor’s degree
- Students whose only college experience is Dual Credit in high school will seek admission to EKU as a first-time freshmen and are unable to obtain this scholarship.
- Present verifiable evidence of PTK membership by these published deadlines:
- June 15 for fall
- November 15 for spring
- March 15 for summer
- Maintain a cumulative EKU GPA of a 3.0 and complete at least 12 hours each semester to be eligible for renewal.

Transfer scholarships are not available for fully online students.

***Students must be admitted to the summer term before the April 15th deadline, but the scholarship allotment will not be added until the following fall term.
Out of State Tuition
Transfer students from other states can qualify for a reduced tuition rate. This opportunity creates a $5,150 per semester tuition rate for non-Kentucky residents.*
*The out of state rate reflects $4,612 in financial aid awards to all out of state students admitted to the university to reduce the cost to $5,250.
While the Transfer Merit Scholarships are only available to Kentucky residents, the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship may be awarded to qualifying students from any US state or territory.
International Tuition
The international tuition rate is $10,600 per semester. Non-US residents who transfer from another stateside college or university may also receive the previous $4,612 tuition reduction for a final cost of $5,250 per semester.**
