Minor in Quality Assurance Technology

Students pursuing baccalaureate degrees other than General Studies may consider a minor in Quality Assurance Technology.

The Quality Assurance Technology minor is offered for majors who want to increase their understanding of modern quality tools and techniques. The minor is designed to provide training in statistical thinking, control charts, quality management system audits, reliability analysis, Six Sigma quality, and experimental design. The Quality Assurance Technology minor consists of the 18 hours of courses shown below.

Please note that no more than nine hours of courses taken for a major may be counted toward this minor, and all requirements for the declared major and minor must be completed by the time the initial degree is awarded. Associate degrees are not eligible for minors.

  • AEM 202 – Introduction to Quality
  • AEM 332 – Process Control and Auditing
  • AEM 336 – Reliability and Sampling
  • AEM 506 – Six Sigma Quality
  • AEM 530 – Design of Experiments OR
  • STA 585 – Experimental Design
  • STA 215 – Introduction to Statistical Reasoning OR
  • STA 270 – Applied Statistics

Total Requirements (18 hours)

No more than nine hours of courses taken for a major may be counted toward this minor.
