Passports
Passport Applications generally take about 8 weeks to process. If you don’t already have a passport, you should start the application process as soon as you apply to your study abroad program.
CISI
(Cultural Insurance Services International) International Health Insurance is required for all students studying abroad through EKU and CISI is our contracted provider for all students studying abroad from EKU.
CDC Traveler’s Health
The Center for Disease Control can provide students with health information relevant to the country where they will be studying, including any vaccinations students should recieve prior to traveling.
STEP
(Smart Traveler Enrollment Program) When you sign up, you will automatically receive the most current information the US compiles about the country where you will be studying. Students should register with step once they know where they are studying abroad.

VISA Application Process
The visa application process can differ from county to country. The state department website is a good resource to find out about the visa requirements and application process for the country where you plan to study.
