Eastern Kentucky University recently welcomed three new individuals to its development team.

Benjamin Kees, Joshua Nicholas and Andrew Polter joined the University on July 30.

Ben Kees“I am excited to welcome these new members to the team,” said Ben Mohler, assistant vice president for major and planned gifts. “They have the skills and eagerness to advance EKU and bring a fresh perspective to that endeavor. More than that, they each possess the innate abilities required to help cultivate a philanthropic culture so critical to the future of Eastern Kentucky University.”

Kees, named associate director of development, previously held professional roles in fund development, external relations and admissions at Discipleship Ministries of the United Methodist Church, Vanderbilt’s Peabody College and Kentucky Wesleyan College, respectively.

The Russellville native graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College in 2010 and went on to complete a master’s degree in higher education administration from Vanderbilt’s Peabody College.

 

Joshua NicholasNicholas, also named associate director of development, comes to Eastern from the University of Tennessee,where he had served as a development assistant for the Tennessee Fund for the past year. Previously, he had served in a variety of roles in the athletic departments at the University of Louisville, University of Mississippi and EKU.

The Louisville native earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management in 2011 from EKU, where he also played football 2009-10. He went on to earn a master’s degree in sport management from the University of Louisville.

 

 

 

Andrew PoulterPolter, named assistant director of development, has worked as an intern with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Oxford (Ohio) Community Arts Center, Chautauqua (N.Y.) Institution, Boston Lyric Opera and Miami University’s Office of Advancement.

He graduated from Miami University earlier this year with degrees in music performance and arts management.
