The Scottish Rite Foundation recently awarded scholarships to twelve graduate students in the College of Education’s Communication Disorders Graduate Program.
The scholarships provide financial support to students who possess career aspirations of working with children or adults with speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
“Our faculty is incredibly proud of each of the students who were selected for the Scottish Rite Scholarship. All of the recipients have worked diligently to maintain strong academic records. We are thankful for the Scottish Rite’s continued support of our students and graduate program,” said Kellie C. Ellis, associate professor, Communication Disorders program coordinator
Since 2006, the Scottish Rite Foundation has awarded approximately $450,000 to graduate students pursuing careers in speech-language pathology at Eastern Kentucky University.
The 2019 Scottish Rite Scholarship recipients include: Jenna Connely (Harrodsburg, KY), Abby Cravens (Liberty, KY), Kaylee Crawley (Louisville, KY), Logan Ellis (Lancaster, KY), Bethany Hall (Irvine, KY), Jordan Hearne (LaGrange, KY), Rachel Johnson (Georgetown, KY), Madison Kelley (Ashland, KY), Tristan McClean (Monticello, KY), Mariah Rosanbalm (Richmond, KY), Morgan Stephens (Ewing, KY), and Megan Turner (Milton, KY). Each of these first-year graduate students will receive $4300 in scholarship funding in the 2019-2020 academic year.
The College of Education is appreciative of the Scottish Rite’s generosity and support of its graduate students. A reception to honor the executive council members of the organization has been planned for the Fall 2019 semester.
