Enhance your skills securing networked cyber systems with Eastern Kentucky University’s undergraduate certificate program. Learn to install, configure, manage, and troubleshoot security in server platforms and in network systems including LANs, VLANs, and WANs. Your studies will prepare you for employment in a wide range of businesses, agencies, and institutions that require network security. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), overall employment in computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations from now until 2032. Approximately 377,500 openings are projected each year to meet employment growth.

A combination of coursework, extensive lab-activities, elective co-operative education opportunities, and certification preparation for all majors in the program provides students with the knowledge and skills needed for installing, configuring, maintaining, and managing computer network systems, and security and modern electronic devices.

Curriculum & Admission


Learn essential skills for today’s network security and tech systems careers. Our programs are made up of high-quality courses and taught by experienced professors. EKU’s curriculum blends academic and professional preparation through course topics such as installation, monitoring, support, analysis, security, troubleshooting, and management of systems.

A minimum of 24 credits are required to graduate.

Please note that certain degree programs have special admission requirements. Admission to the University does not mean automatic admission to all degree programs.

• December 1 for spring enrollment
• May 1 for summer enrollment
