Students learn how to evaluate, design, and implement computing-based solutions to real-world problems and have the opportunity for hands-on, project-based learning in our computer labs featuring drawing tablets, motion capture technology, VR headsets, and other cutting-edge computer technology. Graduates are prepared to enter high paying jobs and pursue graduate programs.

Why Study Computer Science and Information Technology?

The department of computer science and information technology became the first computer science program in Kentucky to be accredited by the Computer Science Accreditation Board (CSAB) in 1990, and we have been leading the way ever since. The department continues to add new degrees and innovative concentrations to meet the demand of this ever-changing discipline. The department offers four undergraduate degrees, one master’s degree, and several concentrations to prepare students for their future as computer professionals.
