This award is in recognition of your exceptional contribution to the social work profession. Your work is in the footsteps of pioneering social reformer Jane Addams, former Labor Secretary Frances Perkins, and civil rights leaders Dorothy Height and Whitney Young. EKU Affiliate Social Work Faculty Award
This award is in recognition of your exceptional contribution to the education of EKU social work students. Your work has been instrumental in helping us prepare the highest quality social workers with a commitment to demonstrating ethical leadership and advocacy for justice. It inspires the Department of Social Work to continue to deliver innovative social work education.

Award Criteria

EKU social work part-time faculty member including field supervisor, instructor, and course facilitator
Reliance on teaching evidence-based practices
Engagement in student mentorship
Self-evaluation for quality social work education

EKU Student Social Worker of the Year Award
This award is in recognition of your exceptional contribution to the Social Work Program, Eastern Kentucky University, and larger community. Your work demonstrates a commitment to providing ethical leadership and advocacy for justice. It inspires the EKU Social Work Department to continue to deliver innovative social work education.

EKU BSW/MSW student in good standing

Selection and Recognition

The EKU Social Work Awards Committee consists of previous award winners. All completed nominations received by the deadline will be reviewed by the EKU Social Work Awards Committee. In selecting each award winner, weight is placed on the extent to which the nominee demonstrates having met the award criteria. Self-nominations are accepted. Here are some ways the Department of Social Work recognizes award winners:

Information about the winner is placed on the EKU Department of Social Work web page.
Press releases may be sent to area media.
The winner is recognized in EKU Social Work Day promotional materials.
The winner is recognized at EKU Social Work Day in the form of a verbal announcement made during the event.
The winner is presented an award at EKU Social Work Day.
