Admission Requirements
- A completed degree in school counseling
- A minimum of two years of successful employment as a full-time, provisionally-certified school counselor OR one year of full-time employment as a provisionally-certified school counselor with a valid Kentucky Professional Teaching Certificate and a minimum of one year, full-time classroom teaching experience
Program of Study
Students pursuing the Standard Certificate in School Counseling must complete 6 credits of coursework decided and agreed upon with their advisor from a list of available elective courses in counseling.

The projected growth for positions in school counseling is an increase of 12% across the nation and 11% in the state of Kentucky within the next 8 to 10 years.
Where are Recent Graduates Employed?
Graduates are hired in PK/K-12 schools and frequently obtain employment by/through their internship sites, if not elsewhere shortly thereafter.
