Criminal justice graduates are expected to be:
- Conversant with the theoretical and legal principles in criminal justice
- Knowledgeable of the essential research contributions in the discipline
- Capable of quantitative and qualitative research and data analysis appropriate to the discipline
- Competent to assume leadership, policymaking, research and instructional responsibilities in criminal justice

Admissions Requirements
- Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
- Have a 3.0 GPA overall OR 3.25 in the last 60 hours of undergraduate course work
- Earn GRE combined scores of:
- At least 286 on the verbal and qualitative portions of the GRE
- Analytical score of 4.0
- GRE: V=146, Q=140, AW=4.0
- (GRE may be waived with previously earned graduate degree.)
- Submit two letters of recommendation directly to:
- The Criminal Justice Graduate Program Coordinator in the College of Justice & Safety
- Apply to and meet the admission requirements of the EKU Graduate School
- Submit a personal statement to the EKU Graduate School, including
- Personal and professional objectives in pursuing an EKU Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice
- Primary and secondary motivations for pursuing this degree
