Office of Military & Veterans Affairs
The Office of Military and Veterans Affairs serves veterans and military students by assisting with admissions, obtaining VA benefits and credit for military training, and serving as an advocate for veterans’ issues throughout the campus community.
Need Assistance?
Meet Josh Maynard, OMVA Veterans Outreach Specialist and Army Veteran!
Josh can help with questions/assistance with:
Credit for Military Training
Army, Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard veterans and servicemembers can visit the VETS | Ready Opportunity Portal to search hundreds of established equivalencies and generate an unofficial evaluation of the credits you may receive based upon recommendations made by the American Council on Education (ACE).
Air Force
Air Force veterans and servicemembers should request their Community College of the Air Force (CCAF) transcript to receive credit for military service. CCAF transcripts are processed by the EKU Registrar’s Office in the same manner as civilian college transcripts because it is a regionally accredited school. Air Force trainings/occupations have not been evaluated for military transfer credit.
Joint Service Transcript Processing Request
Request to have your Joint Service Transcript retrieved and processed by completing this form. This will normally take 7-10 business days before it is recorded on your DegreeWorks Audit. In order to have your JST processed, you must be admitted to the University and have an EKU Student ID Number (901XXXXXX)

Service to Scholars Peer Sponsorship
The EKU Service to Scholars Peer Sponsorship program is a volunteer program designed to provide assistance and support to incoming student veterans transitioning from military service to college life, by connecting them with other experienced student veterans who have “walked the walk” recently, and want to help others do the same successfully.
Any new, admitted servicemember or separated veteran can request to be assigned to a Peer Sponsor. Peer sponsorship can be renewed for a second semester, if needed, and is available to both on-campus and online students. Sponsor assignments are based upon availability, and are on a first-come, first serve basis.
To serve as a Service to Scholars Peer Sponsor, students must have earned a minimum of 24 credit hours at EKU, and must maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA.
To learn more about serving as a Peer Sponsor, or to request to be assigned to a Peer Sponsor, contact Josh Maynard at josh.maynard@eku.edu or 859-622-7931.
