A. Apply to the School of Nursing – Second Degree BSN Program:

Review the admission scale for detailed criteria.

1. 2nd Degree BSN Application form (Deadline: March 1st)  Submit the application and required documents to the mailing address on the application form or email to nursing@eku.edu.
2. Copies of official transcripts or original transcripts of all academic work (front and back copies of official transcripts are acceptable)
3. Personal essay with a maximum of 500 words. There is no writing prompt. See admission scale document with the essay grading rubric for insights. Grading criteria:  Organization/Writing Style and Grammar, Goals and Community Service, Consistent Values (articulates: caring humanistic view, commitment to nursing profession, honesty, and trustworthiness)
4. Professional resumé
5. Three professional letters of reference (recent employer, most recent academic program, or recent service organization/volunteer work. Not family or friends. Applicant may choose any or all categories of references.) Letters may be submitted to the mailing address on the application form or emailed to nursing@eku.edu.
6. International students submit copies of JSILNY, WES, or ECE and TOEFL score

B. Apply to the University:

1. Complete the online Application for Undergraduate Admission to Eastern Kentucky University using the “Apply Now” icon at the bottom of the page.
2. Request official transcripts of all previous college work (except course work taken at Eastern Kentucky University) be sent to the EKU Office of Admissions.
3. The University admission application fee has been waived.
4. International transfer students, please visit the International Admissions website, for a list of requirements.

If you have been enrolled in another nursing program, submit the Applicant from Another Nursing Program and Nursing School Director Reference form.
