Gov. Andy Beshear reappointed Ramakrishna (Vasu) Vasudevan, of Frankfort, Kentucky, to the Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) Board of Regents. Vasudevan was officially sworn in at a regularly scheduled board meeting on Aug. 16, 2023. He previously completed a six-year term on the board from 2016-22. With the reappointment, Vasudevan will serve on the board through June 30, 2028. His appointment replaces Kristie Whitlatch on the Board of Regents.
Vasudevan, a graduate of EKU, works as a principal technical project manager for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He has more than 30 years of experience working in information technology, consulting, cyber security and project management for public and private sectors. Vasudevan is also the president of Lexington’s PMI Bluegrass Chapter, which serves the needs of the project management community.
An active member of the EKU community, Vasudevan served on EKU’s International Alumni Association Board of Directors, as a vice chair of the Alumni Programming and Student Success Executive Committee, and on the EKU Foundation Board while serving his first six-year term on the Board of Regents.
As the governing body of the university, the EKU Board of Regents is comprised of 11 members, eight of which are appointed by the governor. Along with appointed members, the board includes a faculty representative, a staff representative and a student representative, each elected to serve by their respective peers.
