Mission Statement
The Appalachian Shakespeare Center at EKU promotes agency and citizenship by engaging learners and audiences with the works of William Shakespeare.
Taming of the Shrew
The Appalachian Shakespeare Center at EKU presents the Bard’s classic battle of the sexes.
This production transposes Shakespeare’s comedy to the wacky world of reality tv.
Bianca has many suitors but her father Baptista won’t marry her off until her older sister Kate finds a husband, but is anyone man enough to “tame” this strong willed woman?
When Petruchio comes to “wive it wealthily in Padua” he may get more than he bargains for.
With the use of live video projection, the audience will see the TV reality as well as the theatrical reality reflecting and amplifying the themes of Shakespeare’s play.
Come be part of our “live studio audience!”
