Bio

Kristen Kean grew up in Massachusetts, where she participated in the Lexington Public Schools music programs, and later the Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble. She majored in Flute Performance at Boston University, Southeastern Louisiana University and Louisiana State. An experienced orchestral performer, Dr. Kean has performed in the sections of the Boston, Louisiana and Lexington Philharmonics, among others, and was Principal Flute of the Orquesta Sinfonica de Monterrey (OSUANL) and the Owensboro Symphony. Currently Professor of Flute at Eastern Kentucky University, she freelances and performs with her colleagues in the Madison Winds quintet.
