U.S. immigration regulations require that all international students on F-1 and J-1 visa enroll full time each semester in order to maintain a valid immigration visa status. If an international student is not able to enroll full time or would like to drop below full time, for academic, the student’s academic advisor is required to submit this online Reduced Course Load (RCL) Form to the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (OISSS) for approval. The student may not withdraw from classes until authorized to do so by OISSS. If a student drops below full time without prior approval from OISSS, the student would be considered in violation of his/her immigration visa status.
