Probation Recovery

Success Agreements

Students can be required to complete a Student Success Agreement in two cases:

  • Readmitted with less than a 2.0 GPA
  • New First-Time Freshmen on Probation at the end of their first semester.

Probation Recovery

Overview: Probation Recovery was established as a method of intervention for new first-time freshmen NFTF. A student’s academic performance in their first semester at EKU is a predictor of overall success. Students who end the first semester on probation need additional intervention and support to return to good standing. Freshmen on probation after their first semester at EKU are required to participate in the Probation Recovery program.

Student Requirements

  • Complete the Academic Recovery Workshop
  • Complete a Success Agreement
  • Comply with the goals and items on the Success Agreement

Role of Advisor

If a new first-time freshman student contacts you as their Advisor in regards to the communication they have received from the Registrar’s Office notifying the student that they have been placed on Academic Probation, please explain their Academic Standing and their Probation Recovery requirements (see above).

Readmit Students

Students that are readmitted to EKU with less than a 2.0 GPA are required to submit a Petition for Readmission, an Application for Readmissions, and a Success Agreement. They will have a hold on their account until they have completed their Success Agreement.
