How to Sign In and Use Your Yealink Phone

Getting Started

To begin, you want to make sure your Yealink phone is plugged in correctly. You will plug the phone in as follows:

Plug the gray ethernet cord from the ethernet port in the wall in your office to the ‘Internet’ spot on the back of the telephone. Plug in the power cord in its spot, then plug in the other black cord into the PC spot on the back of the telephone. The other end of this black cord will go into your docking station or pc.

Signing Into Your Yealink Phone

Once your telephone boots up, you will see ‘Sign in on this device’ at the very bottom of the phone screen in small letters. Tap this and you will be prompted to enter your EKU email. Once entered, click Done on the screen. You will now enter your EKU password then you will click Go on the screen. The phone will go through several screens and come to one screen that gives you some tips. Click ‘Next’, then ‘Next’ again, and ‘Next’ once more, then click ‘Got it’. Once the phone is signed in, you will see the following screen:

Making a Call

To make a call from this screen, click on the square with the word ‘Calls’ and this brings up a screen with the word Calls on the right and FAVORITES and RECENT on the left:

How to Mute the Caller

When you need to mute the caller, press the mute button on the phone:

Place Caller on Hold

To place the caller on hold, press the hold button on the phone:

Transfer Calls

To transfer a caller to another user, press the Transfer button, type in the extension you wish to transfer the user to and wait until you see ‘Transfer complete’ on the phone screen before hanging up:

If you hold down the transfer button, this is a consultative transfer. You can talk to the person you are wanting to transfer the caller to before transferring them. If the person you are transferring to does not answer, the call will come back to you. If you do a quick transfer, the caller will get the transfer user’s voicemail.

Teams Meetings


You can schedule a Teams meeting from your phone

  • From the Calendar screen, click on the picture on the top left of the phone screen, and click on Calendar. Tap the calendar icon on the screen.
  • Enter the title, add the participants, and select start time and end time. You can enable the All day feature to set up whole-day meetings. You can also enable the Share to channel feature to schedule a channel meeting.
  • Enter the location and select the repetition period.
  • To show others your status during this time, tap the Show as field and then select Busy, Free, Tentative, or Out of Office.
  • Optional: Enter the description of the meeting. Then tap the checkmark icon to set up the meeting.
  • To view meeting details from the Calendar screen, tap the desired meeting. Tap See more on the right of the screen.
  • You can also join a scheduled Teams meeting by tapping ‘Join’ beside the desired meeting.
