Readmission: How To Apply for Readmission

Eastern Kentucky University welcomes former students to return and complete additional coursework to complete a degree, enhance a skillset, prepare for entrance to a graduate or professional program, or deepen their knowledge in an area of interest.

Students who have previously attended EKU who would like to register for additional undergraduate courses should review the information below to determine the process for readmission. Graduate students should contact the EKU Graduate School for assistance.

Students with an EKU GPA of a 2.0 or higher, but have not yet earned a degree:

  • If more than four total fall and spring semesters have passed since the semester you wish to enroll, please submit a new application. Once readmitted, your application will be matched to your previous student records.
  • If less than four total fall and spring semesters have passed, you have an active student status. Please contact University Advising to register for classes. Please check the Registration and Advising Dates Schedule for additional information.

Students with a degree from EKU:

Please submit a new application. You can choose second bachelor’s, graduate, certificate-seeking, non-degree or, if you are currently attending another university, visiting student status.

Students who have an EKU GPA of less than 1.5:

Students who wish to return to EKU but were academically suspended or dismissed (and sat out the required suspension/dismissal time) with an institutional GPA of less than a 1.5 must petition for readmission through the Office of the Registrar and submit an application for readmission to the Office of Admissions.

If you have been placed in 1st Academic Suspension and wish to petition for immediate return, please complete this form: Petition for Immediate Readmission.
