EKU utilizes a VPN that allows users to connect to EKU related servers and services from anywhere with an internet connection. The VPN (Global Protect) comes installed on all EKU assigned laptops for faculty and staff. This Document will instruct you how to set up the VPN connection on your device.
Windows Install
On any of the EKU provided Windows based laptops, our VPN should be already installed and ready to be configured. If you are connected to a personal or public network, you will not be able to access any EKU related drives until you are connected to the Global Protect VPN.
Initial connection
You can find the global protect icon by showing the hidden toolbar on the bottom right of your screen
Click on the globe icon within this menu
Within the Global Protect window, click on the 3 horizontal lines on the top right
Click on settings
In the General Tab, Click “Add” on the bottom left of the page
In the “Portal Address” Text box, type “sslvpn.eku.edu”, then click “Save”
Now click “Connect” from the original GlobalProtect menu
After a short amount of time, you should be prompted to authenticate with your EKU Credentials
Once you have successfully signed in, you should connect to the EKU VPN momentarily
Mac Setup
For EKU Provided Mac laptops, GlobalProtect should come pre-installed on the device. If not it can be installed quickly from the “Self Service” Menu.
Initial connection
In the quick access toolbar on the top right of the screen, you should see a globe icon within this menu
After clicking on the globe icon, you should see the GlobalProtect menu
From this menu, type “sslvpn.eku.edu” in the portal address bar
Hit “Connect” and then you should be prompted to sign in with your EKU Credentials
Once you are signed in, the VPN connection should be complete
Manual Install
Sometimes you may need to manually install the GLobalProtect VPN for a personal device or an EKU Device that doesn’t already have it installed.
Windows Manual Installation
To start the installation for the GlobalProtect VPN, make sure you are connected to an internet connection and visit https://sslvpn.eku.edu on a web browser of your choice
You will be prompted to sign in with your EKU Credentials
Select the “Download Windows 64 bit GlobalProtect agent” option
You can find the installer within your downloads folder in file explorer
After completing the installation, refer to the Windows Install section of this article to complete the connection
Mac Manual Installation
To start the installation for the GlobalProtect VPN, make sure you are connected to an internet connection and visit https://sslvpn.eku.edu on a web browser of your choice
You will be prompted to sign in with your EKU Credentials
Select the “Download Mac 32/64 bit GlobalProtect agent” option
You can find the installer within your downloads folder
After completing the installation, refer to the Mac Install section of this article to complete the connection
