Connecting to Canon Printers

The following support article will show you the various options available to both students and employees for file storage.

Connecting to Canon Printers (ImageClass) with Windows Devices


NOTE: Use left drop-down arrow icon for reference images or additional information.

  • Double click on the printer you want to add to your computer
  • Wait for the printer driver to install
  • Once the printer queue opens then it is installed and ready to be used

Connecting to Canon Copiers (ImageRunner) with Windows Devices


NOTE: Use left drop-down arrow icon for reference images or additional information.

  • Wait for the printer driver to install. The printer queue will open once it is finished and ready to use.
  • To print to the copier, you would select “EKU Secure Print” as your printer selection.
  • Use the card reader on the copier to scan your ID card. Contact EKU Card Services for assistance on obtaining ID cards.
  • Use your phone to scan the digital ID card using the Transact App. Contact EKU Card Services for assistance on obtaining a digital ID.
  • Type in your employee number manually using the touchpad
  • Print + Delete – Will print the selected document and delete it from the queue immediately.
  • Print + Keep – Will print the selected document and keep it in the queue for 24 hours in case you want to go back and print that document again later without having to go back to your PC.
  • Print All – Will print every document in the queue and delete them from the queue immediately.
  • Delete – Will delete the selected document from the queue without printing it.
  • Options – Allows you to change and/or select printing and finishing options for the selected document.

Connecting to Canon Printers (ImageClass) with MacBook Devices

  • Download and install this print driver: UFRII_v10.19.20_Mac.zip
  • Find the IP address for the printer you want to connect to. This will be something like 157.89.x.x and can often be obtained from fellow department coworkers who already have the printer mapped, or from the settings on the printer’s touchscreen.
  • On your MacBook, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Printers & Scanners in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  • Address: This is going to be 157.89.x.x
  • Protocol: IPP
  • Name/Location: Name the printer something you will recognize
  • Use: Choose “Select Software”. Type your printer model number in the search box and select your printer from the list. Note: search for the model number of the printer then select MF version for printers that scan or the LBP version for printers only.
  • Click OK
  • The printer will install

Connecting to Canon Copiers (ImageRunner) with MacBook Devices

Method: Using Self Service App

  • Launch the Self Service app from your Applications folder
  • The driver is downloaded and installed
  • The printer profile is applied to the system, creating the local print object on the device. It will be named ‘MACPrint’ in your printer list.
  • Once the Reinstall button appears the process is completed. NOTE: There is no popup notification or confirmation that it is completed.
  • Navigate to the Apple Menu > System Settings > Printers & Scanners to confirm MACPrint is listed for use.

Method: Manual Setup

  • Download and install this print driver: UFRII_v10.19.20_mac.zip
  • Choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Printers & Scanners in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  • Click the Add Printer, Scanner, or Fax button on the right, click the IP button, then enter the printer information, using the following table as a guide.
  • Address: 157.89.60.250
  • Protocol: Line Printer Daemon – LPD
  • Queue: MACPrint
  • Name: MACPrint
  • Use: Choose “Select Software”. Type your printer model number (should be on the front of the copier) in the search box. Select your printer from the list. (search for the model number of the printer then select MF version for printers that scan or the LBP version for printers only)
  • Click ADD
  • The printer driver will install
  • In Terminal, paste (command-V) in “cupsctl WebInterface=yes” and hit Enter
  • Refresh your Safari browser or open a new one and go back to http://localhost:631/printers/ and you will see your installed printer called MACPrint.

lpd://username@157.89.60.250/MACPrint (the ‘username’ is your EKU username which is typically in the format of LastNameFirstIntial).

  • Click Continue
  • To print to the copier, you would choose “MACPrint” as your printer selection when printing your document.
  • Use the card reader on the copier to scan your ID card. Contact EKU Card Services for assistance on obtaining ID cards.
  • Use your phone to scan the digital ID card using the Transact App. Contact EKU Card Services for assistance on obtaining a digital ID.
  • Type in your employee number manually using the touchpad
  • Print + Delete – Will print the selected document and delete it from the queue immediately
