Big E Welcome

The Big E Welcome is a 4 day experience that will prepare all first-year students for the collegiate experience both inside and outside of the classroom. The Big E Welcome will allow you to build friendships and connections with other first-year students, equip yourself with skills to excel in the classroom, and truly welcome you into the EKU experience.

The Big E Welcome will take place the 4 days prior to the first day of the Fall Semester.

The Big E Welcome is mandatory for all first-year students (including all on-campus residents and commuter students.) Transfer students with less than 30 credit hours are expected to attend. Transfer students with more than 30 credit hours and Regional campus students are welcome to attend the Big E Welcome, but will need to email First Year Experience to sign up for the program.

The Big E Welcome is free for all first-year students.

Students that are unable to attend all or part of the Big E Welcome will need to contact Student Life & First-Year Experience.

The Big E Welcome will primarily take place the 4 days prior to the first day of the Fall Semester. The Big E Welcome will allow you to build friendships and connections with other first-year students, equip yourself with skills to excel in the classroom, and truly welcome you into the EKU experience. Orientation is another EKU required program which occurs over the summer. For more information about orientation, please go to visit the Admissions website, or contact the Admissions office.

The Big E Welcome is mandatory for all first-year students (including all on-campus residents and commuter students.) Transfer students with less than 30 credit hours are expected to attend. You can park in any designated Commuter Lot during the Big E Welcome. You can find a parking map at EKU Parking’s website.

If you live on campus, you can park in the zone you are assigned through Parking and Transportation. You can learn more and see a parking map at the EKU Parking website.

We want to ensure the best Big E Welcome experience for all students. Please contact Student Life and First-Year Experience by August 3rd to ensure we provide you with any needed accommodations during the Big E Welcome.

Meal plans will activate on the first day of move in. You may use either meal swipes or flex to get meals from the Case Dining Hall. You can learn more about Dining, including hours of operation, at Dining’s website.
