We’re glad you’re here.
The Philosophy and Religion program helps students connect philosophical ideas to issues in contemporary life, both personal and professional. Majors, minors, and students from across the university learn to think, read, and write clearly and critically about fundamental questions concerning the nature of reality, knowledge, and values.
We all ask and seek to answer philosophical questions at different points in our lives. Our faculty look forward to working with you as you seek knowledge and understanding related to these perennially important issues.
Study Philosophy and Religion to:
- Sharpen your critical thinking and argumentative skills.
- Increase your ability to analyze and communicate ideas in a clear, concise manner.
- Enhance your ability to see things from other people’s points of view.
- Constructively engage with others whose philosophical and religious views differ from one’s own.
