Many of the experiences Eastern Kentucky University Honors students enjoy would not be possible without the generous support of friends and alumni of the Honors Program. Donations can be designated in one of two ways:
- The Honors Program Development Fund supports various travel and scholarship opportunities for students. In 2014, this fund was used for an overnight honors course field trip for 12 students to Shiloh National Military Park in Tennessee, as well as to help three students attend the Salzburg Global Citizenship Program in Salzburg, Austria.
- The Bonnie Gray Society Endowment supports students attending our annual winter break “Sidewalk U.” course and cultural trip. This fund, named for the founding director of EKU Honors, was established by a group of alumni on the occasion of Dr. Gray’s retirement in 2008.
As many alumni recall, experiences like these are fundamental, worthwhile and unforgettable parts of the honors experience. The Honors Program remains a national leader in large part because of the things that are made possible through the generosity of program alumni and friends.
