Office of the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration


This office is comprised of areas that serve to provide University-wide leadership for Eastern Kentucky University in the coordination of the annual operating and capital budgets, treasury function, student services, tax compliance, and serves as the liaison to internal constituencies and external agencies. The Office of Finance and Administration also includes a broad variety of administrative units that directly serve and support all aspects of the University community.

Our goal is to enhance maintain accurate financial information and provide timely and useful financial information to the campus and external communities, maintain a strong campus-wide financial control and accountability environment with policies and strategies, incorporate solutions through teamwork, demonstrate high ethics and professional standards, use innovative skills and technology to enhance performance, lead through positive change and flexibility, promote the vision and goals of Eastern Kentucky University’s Strategic Plan, and manage all University resources effectively and efficiently.

Mission
The mission of the Office of Financial Affairs is to provide current, comprehensive, and accurate information about the financial position of the University and the various components of the University.

Objectives

  • Provide Basic Financial Statements annually and in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America, as prescribed by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
  • Promote the highest standards of accounting and financial reporting services.
  • Encourage innovation to meet the business needs of the students, faculty, staff, and service providers of the University in a pleasant, professional, and efficient manner.

The mission of business services is to provide essential auxiliary services in support of the University in its academic mission, which includes teaching, learning, and service; research; and also public service. A comprehensive system of diversified services is designed to satisfy the needs and expectations of the University community and is provided through various business services units.

The units included within business services are the EKU Bookstore, Card Services, EKU Dining Services, Purchases and Central Stores, Mail Services, Parking and Transportation, and the University Pepsi Contract Administration. These service units’ goals include striving to provide excellent customer services, effectively satisfying customer needs, developing key diverse business partnerships, and streamlining administrative processes. Effective accomplishment of these goals will enhance the overall efficiency of the University; thus promoting, supporting, and furthering the overall academic mission of the University.
