As part of the Noel Faculty Awards program, announced during Scholars Showcase held each year in April, the EKU Libraries Partnership Award is presented to any faculty or staff member who works in partnership with librarians to promote information literacy in teaching and research along with promoting the role of the library as an essential component of EKU’s mission.
Applicants will demonstrate outstanding effort in one or more of the following:
- Collaborates significantly with librarians or library staff
members on initiatives related to teaching and learning,
research and scholarship, and/or service. - Advocates for EKU Libraries, building bridges with students,
faculty, programs, and/or departments. - Leads or advocates departmental or college conversations
around information literacy, OER-enabled pedagogy, effective
pedagogical use of library resources, or other topics directly
related to library services and collections. - Redesigns assignments and/or courses to integrate a progression of information literacy skills and or to utilize OER-enabled pedagogy.
- Partners with the Libraries to enhance library collections and/or improve library services.
Awards
- $1000 from Endowment
- Engraved plaque (one for them, one for the library wall)
- Invited speaking engagement at New Faculty Symposium
- Serves on the Selection Committee for next year’s EKU
- Other ambassadorship or advocacy opportunities as needed
Nomination Process
A faculty member must be nominated by a librarian or library
staff member.
