Workshop: This workshop is designed to strengthen the interpretation of Social Studies and History curricula for Deaf students by providing educators and ASL interpreters with effective strategies. Participants will explore techniques to accurately translate and sign complex historical and social studies concepts, ensuring clarity and accessibility for diverse learners.

Presenter: Linsay Darnall Jr. is a respected advocate for Deaf rights with a lifelong dedication to community service. Growing up in a Deaf family in Polk, Nebraska, he attended the Nebraska School for the Deaf and later studied government at Gallaudet University. His leadership spans decades, including serving as vice president of the Nebraska Association of the Deaf, president of the Nebraska School for the Deaf Alumni Association for 18 years, and currently as a National Association of the Deaf board member. He co-founded the Nebraska Deaf Heritage Museum and Cultural Center and has been instrumental in supporting Deaf youth and theater. Darnall’s contributions have earned him numerous accolades, including the Outstanding Leadership Award from Jr. NAD, the Spirit of NAD Award, and the prestigious title of Admiral of The Great Navy of the State of Nebraska.
