Your Colonel Card serves as your official EKU identification and is used for services on campus like meal plans (meal swipes and flex dollars), building access, athletics, events, Colonel Cash, mail and package collection, and borrowing materials from EKU Libraries.

Lost, Stolen, and Damaged Cards
If your Colonel Card is lost or stolen, report it immediately to the Colonel Card Office. A temporary hold can be placed on your card to prevent any unauthorized use; however, any transactions made with a lost card cannot be refunded. Visit the Colonel Card Office to receive a replacement the same day.
Frequently Asked Questions
Physical EKU ID card
If you need or want a physical EKU ID card, please visit our office to request one. Please note a $25 fee will be charged to your student account. You will need your 9-digit EKU ID number AND a government issued photo ID to verify your identity.
When will I receive my Colonel Card ID?
In most cases, you will have your photo taken for your mobile Colonel Card during your orientation session.
If you did not, or if you need assistance adding your mobile ID please follow these steps.
- Once you have received your EKU Credentials, please submit your photo to be displayed on your mobile Colonel Card. Please review our photo requirements.

Upload a photo for your mobile Colonel Card. Photos will generally be approved within two business days. If you haven’t done so already, set up your EKU Login and multi-factor authentication login.
- Download the eAccounts Mobile App
- Select Eastern Kentucky University and log in with your EKU email and password.
- Select “Add to Wallet”
International students attending orientation programs will have ID distribution information included in their Pre-Arrival Information and Preparation Checklist.
What is the difference between Board v. Flex?
Board, or meal swipes, are used at Case Kitchen, the Colonel Grill, or Stratton Cafe. Flex can be used at any on-campus dining location, including Case Kitchen or Stratton Cafe.
Block Plan v. All Access
- Block plans can be used anytime.
- 5 Day All Access can only be used M-F.
- 7 Day All Access can be used anytime.
Please note: there is a 30-min. reuse delay on every All-Access plan.
Which Meal Plan Do I Need?
Do any of these conditions apply to you?
- I am a commuter.
- I have lived on campus for 5 semesters.
- I have over 60 credit hours.
- I am over 21 years old.
If NO, you are required to have the resident meal plan (5 Day All Access), but you can choose from any GOLD tier plan.
If YES, you are required to have a commuter meal plan (Maroon Plan), but you can choose any meal plan.
How do I Check or Reload My Balance?
Download or access the desktop version of the Transact eAccounts through MyEKU. On the app, you can load optional flex or Colonel Cash and check your balance. You can also add a bulk amount of Flex to your account with a Flex Boost Enrollment, you can add a Flex Boost on the Meal Plan & Flex Boost Enrollment form.

How do I Select a Meal Plan?
Log into MyEKU using your EKU ID number and PIN. Navigate to “Card Services & Dining”. Select “Meal Plan & Flex Boost Enrollment” and select the academic term and chosen meal plan, then select Confirm.
