Designed to provide you with a well-rounded education, the B.S. in Art/Design Studio will prepare you for a successful career in the visual arts and related fields. As an art/design studio major, you’ll gain a broad knowledge of the various media of studio art and art history. Curriculum & Admission

An art and design degree prepares students for professional careers as artists, designers and art educators. Students will apply critical and creative thinking through research, analysis, and writing to demonstrate an awareness of historical and contemporary concepts, theories, and styles across global cultures and time periods. Students will engage with professional practices.

A minimum of 120 credits are required to graduate.

Students may transfer up to 90 hours of credit from accredited institutions. Please note that a minimum of 30 credit hours in this degree program must be completed at Eastern Kentucky University.

Previously earned credits must be reviewed upon admission to EKU for appropriate articulation.

• December 1 for spring enrollment
• May 1 for summer enrollment
