Dr. Daniel Czech is Dean and Professor in the College of Health Sciences at Eastern Kentucky University.

Daniel earned his PhD in Performance Psychology at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. His research interests include understanding emotional intelligence in the workplace, applying positive psychology interventions in leadership, understanding post pandemic health behavior change strategies, and enhancing psychological skills training in performance settings. He has published over 90 peer reviewed manuscripts, 4 books, 9 books chapters and has given over 120 peer reviewed presentations around the World. During his time in the academy, Daniel was granted the College researcher of the year award, first year professor of the year award, and has given keynote addresses to numerous institutions.

In 1996, Daniel began his 20-year tenure as an envoy ambassador for Major League Baseball. Daniel assisted in the development of sport and has conducted numerous performance psychology clinics in over 58 countries. As a certified mental performance consultant – emeritus, he has helped numerous professional athletes in the National Football League, Professional Golf Association, National Basketball Association and Major League Baseball respectively. He currently consults with Fortune 500 companies on optimal psychological skills needed and the power of positive emotions in the workplace.

Daniel enjoys all sport and fitness activities, attending movies, listening to reggae music, traveling to distant countries, praying, reading the Bible, and quality time with family and friends.
