Dr. JP Stearns is a distinguished accounting and finance expert. He earned his Ph.D. in Accounting from Southern Illinois University – Carbondale in December 2012. With a strong academic background, he also holds an MBA in Finance and a Master of Science in Finance, both from Webster University and a Master of Science in Accounting from Illinois State University.

Dr. Stearns is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Illinois.

Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond, KY, where he teaches various courses in accounting and finance. His research focuses on judgment and decision-making in planning and managerial control systems, with a particular interest in individual differences, such as personality traits and negotiation dynamics.
