Accreditation Matters

Our quality academic programs are accredited by AACSB International. AACSB accreditation shows that EKU’s College of Business meets the highest standards for providing quality education to students. Only 6 percent of business schools worldwide have achieved accreditation. AACSB-accredited schools have rigorously reviewed coursework ensuring a comprehensive, up-to-date business curriculum. Accredited programs also attract high-quality faculty who are held to the highest standards in qualifications and experience in business.

AACSB-accredited schools have better programs, better faculty, better students with higher overall GPAs, more international students, more employers that recruit from them, and graduates who receive better salaries.

AACSB International accreditation assures quality and promotes excellence and continuous improvement in undergraduate and graduate education for business administration and accounting.

AACSB International was founded in 1916 and began its accreditation function with the adoption of the first standards in 1919. Additional standards for programs in accountancy were adopted in 1980. AACSB International members approved mission-linked accreditation standards and the peer review process in 1991. In 2003, members approved a revised set of standards that are relevant and applicable to all business programs globally and which support and encourage excellence in management education worldwide.

Accreditation is a process of voluntary, non-governmental review of educational institutions and programs. Institutional accreditation reviews entire colleges and universities. Specialized agencies award accreditation for professional programs and academic units in particular fields of study. As a specialized agency, AACSB International grants accreditation for undergraduate and graduate business administration and accounting programs.

Any appropriately authorized collegiate institution offering degrees in business administration and accounting may volunteer for AACSB International accreditation review.

As an AACSB Accredited program, EKU’s College of Business is pleased to share success metrics. We are challenged to pursue excellence and continuous improvement throughout our business programs and are pleased to report performance indicators such as graduation and retention rates, placement of our students, starting salaries, etc.

EKU International Business Graduate
EKU has aided me in several ways while pursuing my degree. I have had the support of professors, advisors, and mentors along the way. EKU was very flexible and accommodating in my scheduling to accomplish this in two years

EKU Bachelor of Business Administration Graduate
The highlight of my time as an EKU Online student was getting to know my classmates. We were all at different points in our lives. Almost everyone had other commitments, being work, family, etc. but we were all making our education a priority. It was nice to be surrounded by other people that understood what I was going through.
