A native of Portsmouth, Virginia, Tyler Caviness began his career at EKU during the summer of 2009. Mr. Caviness earned a B.S. in Business Administration with Concentrations in Professional Golf Management and Resort Management from Methodist University in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
After completing his undergraduate education, Mr. Caviness began his career as an assistant professional at Marriott’s Seaview Resort & Spa in Galloway, New Jersey. He worked in several positions, including tournament coordinator and golf sales coordinator. Throughout his career, he has spent time at Doral Resort & Spa in Miami, Florida, and Red Sky Golf Club in Wolcott, Colorado.
Mr. Caviness earned his MBA from EKU in 2012 and is a Certified PGA Professional (Golf Operations and Teaching & Coaching). He received the KPGA Horton Smith Award in 2019.
