Dr. Paula Jones serves as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Eastern Kentucky University, where she teaches formal business communications and international communications. Over the past few years, she has taught courses at the University of Kentucky, KCTCS, and Purdue University. Dr. Jones has developed and taught online courses in educational research, human development, business communications, and instructional technology. Dr. Jones serves as a trainer and master course reviewer with Quality Matters (QM). Before becoming an educator, her business experience expanded over a 15-year period where she served at three different ad agencies working in creative, media production, and sales.
While at EKU, Dr. Jones has facilitated multiple professional learning communities, and one resulted in a published book titled “Putting it into Practice: Developing Student Critical Thinking Skills in Teacher Education – the Models, Methods, Experiences and Results”. In addition, she has published in professional journals and books. She has presented at multiple national conferences and online forums, including the National Business Education Conference, the Sloan-C Conference, the E-Learning Guild, the Quality Matters Conference, the AECT Conference, the Wisconsin Distance Education Conference, the SITE (AACE) Conference, the E-Learn World (AACE) Conference, and the Critical Thinking Conference. In 2015, Dr. Jones was recognized at the 2015 Quality Matters Conference as a Hall of Excellence QM Reviewer. For the work completed in developing the Introduction to Women and Gender Studies course at EKU, she was nominated for the Excellence in Course Design award in November 2015 and 2016 (an eCap award) at Eastern Kentucky University.
Dr. Jones earned her doctorate from the University of Kentucky in Instruction and Administration. She has earned three degrees from EKU, including a Masters (Counseling), BBA (Marketing), and BS (Business Education).
