Kim Kincer to Transition to New Role as Executive-in-Residence/Senior Lecturer at EKU College of Business

Congratulations to Kim Kincer on the appointment as the executive-in-residence for the College of Business

Richmond, KY. (July 24, 2024) – Kim Kincer, the Director of PGA Golf Management (PGM) at Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) since August 2005, will be taking on a new role within the EKU College of Business. Effective August 12, 2024, Kincer will assume the Executive-in-Residence/Senior Lecturer position. In her new capacity, she will oversee the Professional Development Series and coordinate Cooperative Education experiences.

Kincer was instrumental in leading EKU’s PGA Golf Management program through the accreditation process. In June 2006, EKU’s PGM program became the 18th accredited nationwide, and Kincer became the first female director of a PGM program nationally. Prior to her tenure at EKU, Kincer held roles as assistant and associate director of PGA Golf Management at Methodist University for eight years. Her career began with 12 years as a golf professional at the Lexington Parks and Recreation Department, becoming the first female head golf professional in central Kentucky. She is a longstanding Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) member.

Kincer expressed mixed emotions reflecting on her transition: “For me, the transition will be an adjustment. My entire career, nearly 40 years, has been in the golf industry.” She praised her current role, noting, “I have always said I have the best job on campus!” Kincer highlighted the fulfillment of seeing students’ progress through the PGA Golf Management program, ready to embark on careers in the golf industry. “I will miss the day-to-day interaction with our PGM students and working with an amazing staff,” Kincer added.

Looking forward to her new responsibilities, Kincer shared her enthusiasm: “The new position will enable me to work with all students in the College of Business, focusing on their career development and preparing them for entry-level positions upon graduation.” She thanked Dean Tom Martin and Associate Dean Trish Isaacs for supporting this new initiative.

While Kincer finds the decision to transition bittersweet, she is eager for the opportunities ahead in her new role at EKU’s College of Business.
