Meta Interpreting: Roles and Ethics

Join our Eastern Kentucky University Interpreter Outreach Program workshop to delve into ethical decision making as it relates to values, morals, and ethics. Uncover conflicts in educational interpreting, analyze your role in K-12 education, and collaboratively apply a framework to argue ethical scenarios. Identify meta-interpreting principles, discuss their application in educational interpreting, and define your role according to laws.

This virtual workshop opportunity is ideal for Interpreter Training Program students as well as educational interpreters!

Meet Jacob, an Oklahoma native and Sole Member of ScissorTail Interpreting, LLC. He started professional interpreting in 2013, transitioning full-time in 2021, after Special Education work. Jacob’s diverse experience spans medical, Video Relay, and community settings, specializing in court, designated interpreting, and various platform settings.

Don’t miss this opportunity for growth in our enlightening workshop. Earn 3 RID Professional development hours (.3 CEUs), approved by the Kentucky Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. Registration is free, but space is limited. This Zoom webinar is in English, with accommodations available.
